Things I’m Excited for in September
We made it to the ‘Ber months, y’all! Up here in the Northeast we have one more heat wave to get through and then it will truly be Fall. I AM READY. This is the time of year I love most, not just for the weather, but for all of the Fall releases that happen, especially in September. I put together a little list of the things I’m most looking forward to this month in Books, Paper, TV, and Sports and thought I would share it with you all.
Books
September 8th
The Penalty Box Series Paperbacks

Do I already own these in ebooks? Yes. Do I also own the audio versions? Also Yes. Will I be insufferable once I get the paperback versions in my gremlin hands?? PREPARE TO BE SICK OF MEEEEE!
These are my comfort reads y’all and to own physical copies?? I legit might cry, lol.

Listen, EVERYTHING about this appeals to me…the cover and its nod to the 80s aesthetics, the setup of an old horror producer named JACK STANLEY (!) and, what’s my most favorite when it comes to horror media…WAIT…ARE WE IN AN ACTUAL HORROR MOVIE premise!
Legit so excited for this one but I’m glad it doesn’t come out until the end of the month because it will be the perfect October read!

September 7th: Sterling Ink 2027 Planner Launch, y’all! I am by no means a Planner Snob OR Loyalist, because I Planner Hop with the best of them, but I really have come to love and rely on the Sterling Ink Personal Planner Inserts. I use the monthlies for pretty much everything and then the dailies for to-dos and memory keeping. I might throw a little experiment to the cart this year in the form of a Pocket Daily Planner. We will see…
September 11: Traveler’s Company DIY Event in Brooklyn, NY! EEP! I finally snagged a ticket to one of these events and I am SO EXCITED! We’re going to get to explore the history of Traveler’s Company, have access to the Stamp Caravan, AND make our own TN notebook refills!! Seriously so freaking pumped.

Do you watch this show or have you read the books? I didn’t hear about it until mid-2025 and then I binged all four seasons (at the time) in time to start Season 5 when it came out last fall. Now I’m absolutely READY for Season 6 as it looks like all of the members of Slough House are going to be on the run. I mean, what could go wrong??
Sports
After an extended break from watching sports at all, I am finally back on my bulsh, with ALL NEW TEAMS.
Without getting to into the weeds here, I have a complicated history with sports watching and some of the teams I was loyal to since childhood. When I decided to start watching sports again, I also decided to start fresh with new teams. I will always love my childhood/hometown teams and all the memories I have with them, but right now, I’m actually enjoying sports again and I think these new teams, especially those in women’s professional sports, are helping.
September 9 – 22: The FIRST EVER Post Season for the Women’s Professional Baseball League, y’all! After 70 years the women (inclusive) and DOING THE THING and it’s been a DELIGHT to watch. If you’re in the USA, you can catch the games on ESPN+, and if you’re outside the USA, all the games are streaming free via their YouTube channel. LFG!!
September 29th: The MNHL Returns for the 2026-2027 season. This will be the first season that I will follow an entirely new (to me) team. I posted back in April that I needed a new team and spent the rest of the season watching various teams until one “spoke” to me…and that team was the Habs. I’ve been follow their off-season moves in preparation and buy a bit of merch and y’all, I AM READY.
