From Goodreads: Driven and focused, Dr. Nicole Allen is an accomplished surgeon. With a tough past, Nic’s gone above and beyond everyone’s expectations. But when she disciplines an intern—a powerful donor’s son—a prestigious fellowship she’s awaiting is placed in jeopardy.

Coming from a successful family who runs a medical business empire, Benjamin Reed Van Mont is the black sheep, having chosen to start his own business instead. Though he’s not ready to settle down, he knows when the time comes it definitely won’t be with a workaholic doctor like his friend Nic—even if she’s had him re-examining his edict…more than once.

When Ben’s status-climbing ex-girlfriend finds her way back into his orbit, Nic proposes a swap of services. She’ll spend the week with Ben on Martha’s Vineyard, pretending to be his girlfriend—but only if he’ll have his family intervene on her behalf so she won’t lose her fellowship. How hard can the charade be?

But as they’re about to discover, they’ve sorely underestimated their true feelings for each other…

I fell in love with Dr. Nicole Allen, Nic, from the first page, y'all. We meet her in her final year of residency, planning to accept a fellowship for Orthopedic Surgery, and has all of her hard work threatened by an entitled, first-year resident a-hole. Now, I was never an Ortho, but I was an Athletic Trainer for half my life, who also worked in a male-dominated field and was also threatened a few times by entitled parents and athletes, so from her very first moments on the page, I was like, oh, I will die for this woman.

Then there's Ben, aka Benjamin Reed Van Mont, a super privileged Rich Guy, who has turned his back on the family business to start his own successful financial firm. I blame my immediate attraction to Ben on Christopher Reeves. Growing up watching his Superman walk around as Clark Kent KNOWING what is under his poorly cut suits and glasses is why Nerd Hot guys are my kryptonite. PUN VERY MUCH INTENDED THANK YOU. Reading this book, you just KNOW that when Ben takes off his proverbial glasses it's going to be A LOT. In the best way. And whew, we are NOT disappointed.

Watching these two figure out how to be together, despite all the obstacles in their way (including their own brains), was in turns breathtaking, heart-wrenching, ridiculously sexy, and just all-around a delight. I legit had a book hangover for days after reading this. I'll never look at a hammock the same way again, lol.
