Summary: When the idea for a new script brings Hollywood actor Kelan Hunter to the Wine & Chocolate Festival in the small town of Sweetland Valley, MD, sparks fly with the charming candy shop owner who has a list of reasons for why their love isn’t meant to be.

Ruthlessly organized Sydni Murray’s life goal checklist was derailed after her broken engagement last Valentine’s Day. Now, with the holiday fast approaching again and the town’s biggest chocolate festival on the horizon, she must put her biases about love on the backburner. Until Kelan walks into her shop with his model good looks and a box of his grandparents' love letters that melt her heart.

But happy ever after may not be in the cards for the couple as Sydni’s in danger of losing her shop and Kelan’s plan to stay in Sweetland is threatened by an unbelievable career opportunity.

The Sweetest Valentine was my first visit to Sweetland, MD, where the Sweetland Series takes place. Filled with all the small-town charm you can imagine, I very quickly fell in love with everything about this setting and the Murray Family. And while there were references to the previous books, I was not confused or lost at any time reading this story. That being said, I'm absolutely going back to read the rest of the books because I would LOVE to know more about the Cantrell family. Hello Dr. Quinn.

This short story though is focused on Sydni, a chocolatier, and Kelan Hunter, a famous actor, who both try to fight against the very obvious attraction they feel for one another the moment they first meet. Both have hidden pasts that have prevented them from taking a chance on any romantic futures but in meeting and helping one another out, they find a surprise connection neither one of them is ready for.

Throw in the fact that Sydni is a Planner Person™️ (!!) with some old love letters and a Very Close one-on-one chocolate-making scene and y'all, this story was TOO CUTE. Imma need Hallmark to snap this one up and put it in one of their Valentine's line-ups. This is a quick read that is perfect for an afternoon curled up on the couch with a glass of iced tea.
