March Reading Wrap-Up

Happy April, Y’all!

Are we happy that winter is officially over? I always have mixed feelings about this time of year. I mean, sure I like that it’s light outside past 4:30 pm and I like that I don’t need a floor-length puffy jacket just to take my dog outside, but as an Inside Person, I hate that now that the weather is nice, I’m expected to Do Things. Winter is so lovely because EVERYONE just kind of hibernates and stays close to home and no one is inviting anyone anywhere and you can spend your days in fleece-lined soft pants, lol. But, one good thing about spring is that ALL the books are coming. We are about to hit the High Season of book releases and y’all, I have SO MANY to share with you for April!

Let’s chat about the March Wrap-Up:

I was totally derailed on the podcast this month due to COVID and the Post-COVID catch-up. :( The next two episodes of my Twilight Series are coming - they will just be a month late. Apologies for that, y’all, but the ol’ Rona really did kick my butt. Despite not being able to get those episodes out, I did manage to post THREE reviews this month with two of those being five-star reads for me. Can I call that a victory?? In addition to book reviews, I also published a post talking about all of the podcasts I’ve “visited” over the years. If you are into Hallmark Movies, then you might want to check it out. :)

Tell me, what did you read this past month? And what are you looking forward to reading in April?

Books Read this Month

eclipse

★★★★☆

I’ve reached the point in this series where I think a re-read was a mistake, lol. I should have left them in my memories as a Great Time in my Life. The only thing keeping me going now is that I’m desperate to talk about Breaking Dawn and that entire fight scene.

That being said, I did enjoy this one more than New Moon (not a hard thing to do, lol) and I’m excited for y’all to hear my thoughts on this one soon. ::insert nervous emoji face::

Something wild & Wonderful

★★★★★

This. Book.

I wasn’t ready for it AT ALL. I had a pretty good idea that I would enjoy it based on the whole hiking set-up, but I was NOT prepared for how much these two would take up space in my heart. Just a gorgeous story of two lost souls finding themselves and each other.

the secret lives of country gentlemen

★★★★★

Just an absolutely fun, romantic, page-turning historical romance with a bit of mystery/what is happening thrown in the mix. I DEVOURED this book and I am SO EXCITED for the next in the duology.

Darke Passion

★★★★☆

Three sisters who are ghost hunters AND can commune with the dead?? 1000% IN.

If you like cozy mysteries with a bit of the paranormal AND some spice, then THIS book is for you. And the best part is?? It’s going to be a trilogy with each sister getting their own book/love interest.

The Block Party

★★★☆☆

This book isn’t coming out until mid-July, but I was craving a bit of a thriller/whodunit-type story that I could read in one day and this one jumped out of my TBR. Y’all, I cannot resist the siren call of the wealthy neighborhood and its residents who are filled with SECRETS. Full review to come in July, but this one was MESSY in the BEST way.
